how do we stay alive? tell me how do we stay alive? it's these questions that swamp my mind and i see that you are asking them too so tell me how do we stay alive? tell me your questions and you can ask me mine tell me your questions and you can ask me mine do they take form like a bank or bee line? or do they lay quietly on a mossy grave? tell me how do we stay alive?

i’ve dammed the water because i want this season to soak me i’ve dammed the water because i want this season to soak me life is lived in sections, one lock flowing into another how do you hold that empty space? how do you hold that negative space? the down time? the relief? the impressions? the etchings? oh i’ve seen the life i love, i’ve seen the people palms wide, full of sun hands full, full of mud when you move your growth is marked by pencil lines on the wall measuring children’s height what happens in between? what happened in between the spaces divided infinitely? oh i’ve seen the life i love, i’ve seen the people palms wide, full of sun hands full, full of mud our bodies tend to settle in the same ways our bodies tend to settle in the same ways try changing that our words tend to settle in the same ways our words tend to settle in the same ways try changing that oh i’ve seen the life i love, i’ve seen the people palms wide, full of sun hands full, full of mud what happens in between, what happened in between, the spaces divided infinitely?

we’re one in the wind it’s a crisp, clear, clean negative degree day the winter reveals the starkness usually unseen we’re drawn to the mysterious, north, earth element as we are INCREASING SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH let the symbols be symbols that guide us through let the symbols be symbols that guide us through as we are INCREASING SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH

magnets 03:46
magnets push and magnets pull when will we reach equilibrium? affinity, coercivity this threshold depends on us resistance, attraction, it's all the same how can we so easily align when our trajectories have different spines? you told me, you told me, you told me, you told me this way always points north affinity, coercivity this threshold depends on us resistance, attraction, it's all the same how can we so easily align when our trajectories have different spines? even the earth and moon are drawn to each other ever circling, not touching, not repelling you told me, you told me, you told me, you told me this way always points north magnets push and magnets pull when will we reach equilibrium?

you or i or anyone knows how the wheat and barley grows you or i or anyone knows how the space between us bows maybe we both know, maybe we both know

about

it all started with the red jasper, strung on a necklace, hanging at my heart. researching the stone’s meaning, i read “increases one’s sensitivty to the earth,” and i realized that is the work i want to be doing, the creativity our world needs. and it was the overarching theme that holds these eight songs together.

utilizing the incredible beast of the loop pedal, INCREASING SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH weaves together the sweeping comfort and inherent pleasure of the synthesizer with found sounds (rocks, a storage bin from childhood for a bass drum, tin whistles, the ineffable vibrations that linger at the edge of the throat, bubbling water) with the poetry of singing/vocalizing through life’s experiences.

the world is shifting. the world is waiting. the world is calling. we are not waiting for someone else to make our world. WE create our own paradigm, one where we INCREASE OUR SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH.

we are reaching to increase sensitivity to ourselves, to our bodies, to the land, to each other, to the vulnerable, to the ritual movement of celestial bodies, to people of color, to indigenous people, to lgbtq+ people, to pain, to vulnerability, to joy, to fulfillment, to deep meaning. the list is endless.

our world calls for this new sensibility- to support power that is emotional, intuitive, intelligent, creative, wild. how can we increase sensitivity to ourselves, to each other, to our mother earth? how can we inhabit our bodies and live FULL lives, ALL OF US?

INCREASING SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH holds layers of sounds & meanings. ask me. but more importantly, what does it mean to you?

[movements explorations go along with these songs to help INCREASE SENSITIVITY TO THE EARTH] come dance!
